2015 LCLA Professional Development Grant

The purpose of the LCLA Professional Development Grant is to encourage new librarians who reside or work in Lancaster County and to encourage membership in the Association.

A maximum grant of $150.00 will be awarded annually between January and May.
The LCLA Executive Committee will serve as the grant review committee, reviewing all applications and awarding the grant from LCLA funds.

Application Procedure:
  • Applicants shall:
  • Reside or be employed by a library in Lancaster County
  • Have a degree in library science (school certification or Masters).
Note: Preference is given to those who have received a degree within  the previous 5 calendar years but all applications are welcome.

  • Not have received an LCLA grant previously
  • Membership in LCLA will not be a requirement, but will be considered positively in reviewing applications.
  • Applications will be solicited during November and December for professional activities during the following calendar year. 
  • The application deadline will be set by the Executive Committee, but should fall between  January 1 and February 28 each year. 
  • Whenever possible, applications should be submitted in electronic format. The application form will be available in PDF and Word compatible format. 
  • Grantee will be invited to attend a LCLA meeting as a guest during the calendar year in which the grant was awarded.
